Hi, go feel the cameras that you like before you decide. for me the D5000 feels abit small, D90 gives me a better feel.... so in the end got the D90. If the camera don't feel good, you will regret in the end. that's my feel.

Hi, I'm a newbie, I also brought a D90 from MS wif the standard package (lens , icase, SD card & tripod) for $1699 but managed to trade in the icase for a hoya uv filter. Dunno if it's a good deal.
