did a quick initial recording test with the foam attached... i must say that the audio quality is superb (by my standard, I owe MKE400 as well)... very clear and studio-like recording.. my wife agree with me too

Sweet! The position of the 1/4"-20 threadhole makes more sense for HDSLR mounting than the H2 which requires a L-bracket adapter or 90-degree tilt-head. Only concern is the battery life since it is now single AA. How long does the battery last?

As quote from the spec it can last to 10 hours depends on the audio format.

Did alot of research today as well on this product.

Comparing to buying a zoom h4n, receiver and transmitter, than mics. Then another Rode mic for the camera mount. which total cost up to US$1500, this a a really cheap start and able to produce superb sound quality.

I calculate the set up (Samson Zoom H1, Audio Technica ATR-3350, hotshoe to tripod adaptor, Red Head Wind Screen deadcat) It will only amount to US$160!!!

I am getting this probably this weekend through ebay.

finally and lastly, I NEED HELP HERE, does anyone knows that do those local camera shop like orient photo, cathay sells the "HOTSHOE TO TRIPOD" mount??? not would it to ship in an item that cost less than the shipping.

And also anyone knows any shop in Sim Lim, sells, the double audio head port? and the audio male to male wire?

Depends on personal preference. Just placed the order for Zoom H1 with the DSLR package.

I like things to be simple. Need only one REC button to operate.

Can I know where you got the hotshoe adapter? I'd like to fit my H4N on top of the camera too. Tried ebay but a lot of those hong kong sellers don't want to mail to Singapore.
