recently read about this high-end p&s on the net and i got these questions:
.how much is it about?
.is it that good?
.where can i get it?
thanx for any answers and i would like to get my hands on it soon hmmm

i havent got one, but i had some interest in it last year and did a little research.

price: they go up pretty high for a pns camera. around 200$ and up. do a search for completed listings on ebay to get a clearer idea.

availability: haven't seen them in local stores, though i suspect that some places in the peninsula area might have them. your best bet is probably ebay and in the marketplace here :)

I have usedthis and I don't think it is a great camera. It's only relatively better than most plastic film PnS, but it cannot compare against other film PnS that I have used e.g. Contax T series, Leica CM, Ricoh GR or even Minolta TC1. The images are really closer to the Contax TVS series, but better than the Yashica T4 zoom. I would not pay USD200 for it.

I bought a Yashica T5 with Carl Zeiss lens back in 2001. Great little film camera. I bought it along for all my travels during the next 3 years and the pictures were always amazing. Some of them were so amazing that I know it outperformed my trusty Nikon F90x. Not forgetting the T5 has a build-in flash.

Due to the high quality images, I ended up collecting the whole Yashica series of T,T2,T3,T4, T4 Super and T5. All of them proved to be a winner with very good quality images because they use the same Carl Zeiss lens.

If you are looking for a used T2, I think you maybe able to find it at Cam-X at Peninsula. 2 years ago, I saw at City Plaza's Yashica-specialty shop (on the ground floor) that had a new T5. I asked the price and decided that I may have better luck at ebay. Otherwise, if you have friends from Tokyo, you can ask them to help out in the used camera shops there.

Many of the serious (though not necessary high-end) PnS cameras are fixed-lens design.

I have not used the Yashica T5 but I had the Olympus Mju II and the Ricoh GR1s.

I loved the Mju II for the simplicity and weatherproofing. While the build quality is not the best, it's cheap and I have no problems lending it to parents, nephews, friends, etc. http://photo.net/equipment/olympus/mjuII

My personal favourite is the Ricoh GR1s. The lens is wide, fast and pin-sharp. Superb build quality and ergonomics, and enough manual controls to keep me happy.

I suspect I may still have both cameras in my house somewhere, if you are still interested.
