Hi guys,
I've just bought an Yashica GSN. Now really need battery solution for my camera cause the original battery is discontinued.
Thank you and looking forward to hearing from you guys,
Derek

I had a GSN, which ran ok with a CR123 battery and a little adapter to fill the gap space between the contacts.

i'm using a gtn.. i too use a cr123 n a varta v625u to fill in the gap..actually, not me, but a nice uncle who sold me the cam uses tat :) ..fits jus nice..

But I thought the CR123 is 3 voltages. The camera handles 5.6 or 6V. How come it fit?

my combi is like 4.5 volts.. can drive the camera n will light up the indicators in the viewfinder.. however, battery checks seems like not working.. perhaps due to the lower voltage.. anyone out there care to share ur battery combination?

Some tell me this combination: 1 CR123A + 2 AG13 (LR44). Havent tried it yet, but total is 6V

i'm also using a gtn. i tape 4 1.5v LR44 batteries together. then, i took the spring off my torchlight and use it to fill up the gap. :)

I do not own a Yashica rangefinder, but I am getting one quite soon.

Someone once said that the GSN batteries can be easily bought from Sim Lim Towers?

My Dad still has his original GSN. He uses a HM-4N mercury Battery, 5.6V. Love this camera, I was still happily snapping away in the snow while all my friends batteries had frozen :) 45mm f 1.7.... lovely.

Yes, try the battery wholesaler located in the basement near the escalators. He might have some.

I was thinking of that shop too, because thats the only shop I see there selling such a huge variety of battery.

What do I ask them? How much are them batteries?

Hi I manage to try this combination, and everything work well. Need to put a string to fill in the gap.

Give them the model name of the battery. They should have a chart telling them equivalent types they can use or they might even have the originals.

You can also use a paper clip or metal foil to fill up the gap.
works fine for me....

Some people use the old one cent coins, as they conduct very well.

i had my serviced at camera hospital at sunshine plaza. the shop owner helped me install a new batt compartment.

nw all i need is a 4LR44 6V to work!
