The Panasonic NV-GS250 is ideal for the more experienced videomakers and for video camera owners purchasing their second or third camcorder. 3CCD RGB unlike most video cameras that interpret all three colours with one CCD. Surprisingly, have an optical image stabiliser, which is premium feature. Front Manual focus ring and onboard flash for still photos--a great addition when you consider the 3.1 megapixel stills and a wide range of shutter speeds available. A Web video mode captures MPEG-4 quality video to an SD card. An excellent 10X optical zoom lens. The 2.5" LCD screen. Colour & low-light performance was also surprisingly good.
Bottom Line:
If you want a great lens, vibrant colours and the ability to simply and easily send your video out to the Web--and don't need a large optical zoom--the Panasonic NV-GS250 should be near the top of your list.

Good handling & Solid construction. Legendary LEICA DICOMAR optics gives this compact DV video footages (sharpness, colour richness, tone gradation) on par with much much larger and way more expensive mini-DV cameras. I have compared outdoors and indoors footages (at certain controlled conditions) with a much larger + more expensive $2000+ Advanced Semi-Pro Sony mini-DV cam /w Sony lens. LEICA DICOMAR lens wins handown. Large diameter lens (for a compact Mini-DV) as compared to other Panasonic mini-DV models. I use this as backup Mini-DV cam for amateur filming. Reasonably good low light filming. Has similar performance of larger more expensive siblings like GS-400 Semi Pro mini-DV, but in a compact metal housing. Mini-USB cable (BYO) to download footages onto the PC. Its very simple to use! Selling it to clear excess mini-DV cams. Bought it previously $700+. By the way, the internal tape recording assembly changed to new one by Panasonic Singapore a year back for almost $300. Lost receipt, but u can verify this with the serial number on this mini-DV cam. My loss your gain.
Good for: Low light amateur filming. Hotshoe allows adding of LED Video flood lights. Travellig and vacations.
Note: Wrist Strap came loose. Just need you to apply some Industrial strong glue to hold it firmly, if using only 1 hand. But, if you film using both hands all the time, this is a minor incovenience. This item is NOT FOR FUSSY BUYERS! And to Asok and friend from Malaysia, please DO NOT buy my items! I DO NOT want to spend another 1 hour to test the units when there is NOTHING wrong with my DV cameras! For goodness sake, you CANNOT use a recording from a PROFESSIONAL DV cam and plug the footage into both my DV cams and claim it does not work. These consumer grade cameras cannot decode your pro camera footages, for Goodness sake, you are a professional VG, use your brain la!!
