Equipment Type: Rangefinder
Equipment Brand: Yashica
Equipment Model: Electro 35 GSN (with actual photos and sample photos)
Price (S$): $230
Description:
For sale is a Yashica Electro 35 GSN in silver/black. The GSN is the latest incarnation with the hotshoe.
This camera is ideal for those who are just getting into rangefinders as it is amazingly easy to use, with a huge, clear viewfinder and rangefinder.
Also, it operates on aperture-priority which, in my humble opinion, makes operation faster and more efficient.
Furthermore it has a light-indicator to tell you if you're over/underexposing, very handy and very convenient.
It has every advanced feature that I need, and nothing else - none of the fancy bells and whistle that modern cameras are plagued with.
It has a certain appeal even with those who are experienced with rangefinders.
Personally I have another copy so I'm clearing this off, it's just one of those cameras that's so nice shoot with you just have to have one around.
The lens on it is a beautiful Yashinon 45mm f/1.7, which is incredibly sharp with very pleasing colour rendition.
This Yashinon is what they call a sleeper, owing to the fact that it's severely underrated and that not many comprehend its true value.
Here are some excellent reads regarding the GSN.

Exterior Condition
Rated a conservative 9/10, in accordance to Clubsnaps guidelines.
This copy is pretty much unblemished no paint-chips, scratches or dents. Leatherette looks new and is tight all around.
Lens, viewfinder and rangefinder-glass are all 100% free from scratches, haze and fungi.
Exterior is in an excellent condition.
Interior Condition
Interior is pristine and amazingly clean, not the slightest sign of tarnishing. Everything is shiny and spotless.
No dirt, gunk or even scratches inside.
Light-seals recently replaced.
Working Condition
This copy was recently sent for a CLA.
Shutter-speeds are test accurate, rangefinder alignment was calibrated and tested accurate.
Metering is also accurate, battery-check light works.
This copy has been modified to take modern batteries, so the battery is no longer a problem. Light-seals were also recently replaced.
Aperture blades are snappy with no oil. Focusing ring is smooth, aperture-ring clicks solidly at each stop.
Viewfinder is bright and clean as a whistle. Rangefinding patch is contrasty, which makes for easy focusing.
Everything is in perfect working condition.
You'd be hard-pressed to find another copy in a similar condition as mine.
Furthermore, it has recently been CLAed so you can have a peace of mind that everything is functioning perfectly.
It's a known fact that the rangefinder alignment goes awry after prolonged usage due to the knocks and bumps it endures, so having one that already has the alignment fixed is a bonus.
You can just pick it up and shoot with confidence.
I'd even thrown in a new battery for free, and if you're new to rangefinders, I'd love to share what knowledge I have with you, that is if you are willing.
