Classifieds Type: WTSell
Equipment Type: Rangefinder
Brand: Leica
Short Description: Leica Leitz 3.5cm F3.5 Summaron LTM
Price (S$): 600
Condition of Item(s): 8
Detailed Description:
Selling one of my favorite lenses: a Leitz Summaron 3.5cm F3.5. Comes with generic LTM adapter and M mount rear cap.
The Leitz Summaron is an extremely sharp 35mm lens, albeit a little slow when you look at more luxurious offerings like a Summicron or Summilux. But for its price you’ll not get a better standard lens than this. I’ve never craved faster 35mm lenses because my M film bodies have a pathetic shutter speed of 1/1000 only. Any day with good light requires me to stop down anyway.
This copy is in wonderful condition for its age, with little to no brightwork on the barrel. Aperture ring steps down with satisfying clicks. Glass is clean and clear, but may have some dust as is normal for a used lens. Focusing is smooth and evenly damped, with no stuttering across the range.
This will make a compact set up on any M or LTM body, or even digital mirrorless cameras. I’ve mounted it on my Sony full frame cameras with no visible degrading of image quality; not bad for a lens from the 1950s.
