Hi All,
Up for sale is a very very limited and beautiful Brand New LEICA M7 Edition ‘Hermès - Veau Swift Etoupe set number 170/200.
This set is the second special edition set that came out of the partnership between Hermès and Leica. This special M7 comes in silver chrome with a "Veau Swift Etoupe" calfskin leather finish.
The Leica M7 Edition Hermès set includes a silver anodized finishing Leica SUMMILUX-M 35 mm f/1.4 ASPH. wide-angle lens, a matching classic round 12466 "Flower" lens hood in silver, a LEICAVIT M rapid winder in silver chrome. A real leather carrying strap, handcrafted by Atelier Hermès to match the colour of each camera, provides the finishing touch. Each set is delivered in a linen-covered, silk-lined box.
The LEICA M7 Edition ‘Hermès’ camera has a number of distinct features compared to the standard LEICA M7 model. For example, the top plate is engraved with the Leica name in the classic script: the red Leica logo has been omitted to preserve the colour harmony of the leather covering. All control elements of the LEICA M7 Edition ‘Hermès’ have been manufactured exclusively in metal, and the back of the camera is finished in silver chrome. Furthermore, the red colour of the engraved AUTO and A settings on the shutter speed dial and the "35" on the lens have been replaced by the specific shade of the camera’s leather.
Just 100 of this color were made and each individual camera has a special sequential serial number between 101/200 and 200/200. This set is number 170/200.
Set is in original brand new never used condition with all documentation and accessories intact. The leather on the M7 body, due to its soft nature have "sunken" in and hence you can see the imprint underneath on the right side of the camera near the battery compartment. This set was purchased on 15 December 2009 from the Leica Store Ginza and stored meticulously from purchase. The original warranty card from Leica Store Ginza will be included in the sale.
A brand new set was previously sold in the 22 June 2013 L&H Auction in Hong Kong for HK$212,400 (Approximately SG$36,045)(see attached screenshot). More recently, another USED set was sold by the Leica Store Vienna for 20,160 Euros (Approximately SG$31,734). Prices sold were not inclusive of shipping and taxes.
