Lens : Jupiter 8 f2
Model : unknown, my best guess is Kiev 3a, so sorry but i don't know much about russian camera variation.
Case : Leather eveready case, fit the camera but seem like for other kiev model since the tripod mount don't fit the camera,but still can be used for transportation
Detail description :
Camera is a rangefinder, have a built in meter that don't require battery to work, highest speed is 1000, use 35mm film type. The body lens mount is contax bayonet mount. Camera has self time, manual film counter, flash socket.
Condition :
.Working condition
.Rangefiner is aligned and quite accurate, rangefinder yellow patch still clear.
.Film rewind is smooth.
.Shutter speed has problem :
- Can't access bulb mode.
- Can't turn to 1250 shutter speed due to 500 and 1250 too close.
- Have to press the shutter release once more after shot then can wind the film and shutter.
.Body have light scratch but still nice condition
.Self timer work
.Meter seem accurate, but best use in bright daylight situation and use with film that can forgive such as bw,c41 film, not sure for slide, best use external meter if shoot slide
.shutter speed seem accurate but have above stated problem
.Shutter is in good condition, no pin hole, no problem
.covering still in good condition,some in the back has very small sign of peeling but doubt will have any problem soon.
.The base plate one of the latch a little lose but no problem secure the base plate,no light leak or sign of base plate moving,shaking, well secured.
Lens :
Jupiter 8 50mm, come with hood,front cap,seem to have good coating.
Very sharp and medium high contrast lens.
Lens condition :
. Have 2 chips inside the lens but don't affect the image (see photos taken below )
. some small light scratches, the lens is old after all
. No fog,haze fungus
. External condition is good
. focus, aperture blade,ring all work well
Russian lens is cheap,u can replace the lens anytime you want with little cost, but please,the lens produce great image comparable to leica lens 50mm
