At least once in his lifetime, a photographer should taste
the rangefinder experience.
If you are itching for the digital Rangefinder experience, but
not willing to fork out $5-10K for an M, then the Epson R-D1
might be for you !
I’m springing for a used M8, that's why I'm selling my R-D1.
This particular unit that I own works flawlessly. No mechanical
problems, no rangefinder errors, works reliably and consistently.
Cosmetically it looks a bit roughened up, with paint flake-off
at some corners of the metal body, and the rubber grips
needed glue-down.
(I rate this unit as Condition 7: well-used, but not abused)
I’m taking a huge loss here, because:
(i) cosmetic condition of camera
(ii) looking for a quick sale (getting the M8; need the cashflow).
My quoted price is so low; I can't imagine reducing further.
If you ask me, I'd say this is a VERY LOW ENTRY FEE to the
digital rangerfinder world !!
