Equipment Model: Rarely Offered: Agfa's Super Isolette Sibling Super Solinette CLA'd and Restored by the Agfa Master Jurgen Kreckel himself
Price (S$): Offers from $350 please BNP $400
Description:
Jurgen Kreckel called this camera the "Baby Super Isolette."
Made in the 1950s, the camera comes with a 50mm f3.5 Agfa Solinar lens, which has the slightly better and sharp performance then that of a Zeiss Tessar, and some say equal to the performance to the Voigtlander Heliar, or even the Ultron.
The Synchro-Compur shutter is like-new, and the camera has a coupled rangefinder. The camera focuses by moving the entire shutter and lens assembly, like the Super Isolette, making the mechanism rugged and very sturdy.
Here is a chance for you to own a dream folder, an Agfa Super Solinette. It is equipped with the top of the line Solinar lens(4 elements in 3 groups (Tessar-type)) housed in a Synchro Compur shutter
The Solinar is a very nice lens and works well with closeups without giving those round out-of-focus backgrounds that you often get with a Tessar. But like a Tessar, it shows plenty of detail right out to the corners.
What did Jurgen do on this wonderful camera?
Its a CLA(cleaning, lubrication and adjustment) specifically done for this Super Solinette. Its not an easy camera to work on, just like the Super Isolette, another wonderful camera that is not easy to come by. I must admit Master Jurgen's a peach in restoring these folding cameras especially the Agfas. A complete overhaul to tune this camera back to the original specs if not better.
1. All cameras are completely disassembled. Lenses are removed from the shutter. The lens glass is removed from the lens mount and cleaned.
2. Shutter is disassembled and cleaned.
3. Focusing helicoils were removed and thoroughly cleaned, polished, relubed.
3. Rangefinder is removed, disassembled, cleaned, lubricated, and adjusted.
I am not sure what he used, but the metal parts are restored so nicely and brushed evenly. The same is applied to the leatherette covering.
This is also a piece that is rarely offered by him. It was sent to him personally, and yes its literally doorstep for him to service because if go by mail or internet, he would not accept any more orders.
Please offer from $350 onwards, and if you have purchased from us before, we will even let go below as and when we like it
This is truly a good chance to own one of the dream folders. A well engineered piece with a highly rated lens for your collection of exotic folders. Its the top of the line for the Solinette range.
P.S. Leica MR meter box for show only. Not for sale(yet).
