This EF-Mount lens arrived on 17th Jan, but I know immediately it's not the macro lens that I'm looking for.

This is a FULL MANUAL lens, meaning there's no electrical contact at all. There is a aperture ring and a focusing ring. I was looking for electronic aperture control.

I have tried taking some shots with it, and I can tell you this lens is really sharp @ f2.8, and the bokeh is absolutely ridiculously beautiful due to the 14 aperture blades. Usually flagship lenses from Canon/Nikon only goes up to 9 aperture blades.

Warranty is 3 years, but will have to mail it to China. But no worries, this is built like a tank. Metal chassis.

This project started when a opticist (a physicist who study optics) found the blog of a macro photography enthusiast. This enthusiast build lighting system and lens on his own for his photos. The opticist got really impressed and...

long story short...

A whole bunch of scientist and macro photography enthusiast started to make their own lenses. (Please note this is China, where 92% is a low mark... everybody go to universities......)

Please also note that this is China.... So people will be lacking in refinement. They are very very SKILLED enthusiast and worksmen. But not gentlemen from Harvard. (They also know nothing about marketing, business, etc.)

Only bad thing/con I can find is that their price is just about 270 USD in China... not the 379 USD on the English website.. oh well, International shipping I guess, and people in China are poorer.
