Description:
I'm clearing out my dry cabinet along with other stuff like the Sigma 18-35 3.5-5.6 (http://www.clubsnap.com/forums/showthread.php?t=821634) and other Nikon stuff (http://www.clubsnap.com/forums/showthread.php?t=817588).
This lens is clean and largely free from dust (some dust trapped inside). It is solidly built in Japan, and has no dings or knocks. A very good lens for beginners.
I quote a review website: "The AT-X 242 AF is what is commonly referred to as a parafocal lens, meaning when focus is achieved at a telephoto focal length, it is possible to zoom back to a wide angle and maintain focus on the subject." This is a very useful feature for a lens with such a wide range.

Typically others are selling this used in Singapore for $220 (do a search to verify), but I'm willing to let it go at a low $150 to clear it fast. Buy by 31 Dec 2010 to get a 10% discount.
