Kindly note that this is the BIM (Built-in Motor) version (and yes, there are people selling $450 but please note that their is the non-BIM version), and thus, it will work on all Nikon dSLRs, eg D5000, D3000, etc. That means you have a broader market later when you intend to upgrade to the Nikon version which easily costs 3 times more!
For beginners and amateurs out here, this is a "must-have" lens for quality pictures. It will bring out the best for your travel and other photo shoots!
