Description:
This is a vintage manual focus Tamron Adaptall telephoto lens, the only one made in 105mm and an aperture of f/2.5. Released in 1976, its model designation is CT105 and incorporates Tamron BBAR multiple-layer coating technique to suppress reflections and dispersion on the lens element surface and also renders the best possible colour balance.
Not much information exists for the first generation Adaptall lenses; but enough pictures online to show off the capabilities of this 105mm f/2.5 telephoto lens.
This lens has been with me since the late 90's shooting film, at wide open it is soft in a pleasant way which is nice for portraiture. Stopped down from f4, image sharpens yet retains that same nice softness in out-of-focus area.
Lens is free from fungus, always kept in dry-cabinet when not in use. Some wear marks on the exterior. Ill rate this lens a 9.
