Something like this... Well i really dont think there is a need for me to type much here. This is one of the very best in the Zeiss ZF series, after the 100F2 macro, which is of cos, an amazing lens by itself but loses to the 85F1.4 in portrait and low light applications.
Something worth mentioning is the constant debate between the AFD 85F1.4 and this Carl Zeiss ZF 85F1.4, clearly if you need AF, get the nikon. If you want better optics, that crazy characteristic zeiss bokeh, contrast, sharpness then this is your lens.

Image was taken via an adapter onto a Canon 5D2 instead of a nikon D3, but all the same... Look at the beautifully thin depth of field, how it makes the subject really pops on your face, the skin tone rendition and the contrast, even wide open at F1.4
