It may not be ais lens but ai. Ley me tell you I am able to mount it on my D5100 without any problem. One gentleman from this forum tried on his D700 he had issues in setting up the aperture in his camera. But he was able to mount and take pictures. I hope this clarifies any doubts if you have. You can try the lens before you buy. Thanks.
