Minolta V 28-56mm Zoom Lens
Product Description
Ultra compact standard zoom lens for the Minolta Vectis S-1 and S-100 APS SLR cameras, plus the RD3000 digital
Original Minolta V lens
28-56mm zoom range
Fully automatic focusing
Compact and lightweight
For Minolta Vectis S-1
For Minolta Vectis S-100
For Minolta RD 3000
Not for Minolta AF, KM
With Minolta lens hood,
generic front/rear caps
This is an original Minolta V standard zoom lens for the Vectis APS SLR and RD 3000 digital cameras (see below), in good condition with original lens hood, plus front and rear lens caps. These cameras use a unique lens mount and only Minolta V lenses are directly compatible, though there was an almost mythical adapter for using Minolta 35mm AF lenses
The wide angle to portrait focal length range is equivalent to around 35-70mm on a 35mm camera - a handy range suitable for a wide variety of pictures including landscapes, portraits, travelling, children, groups and many, many more. On the RD 3000 DSLR it's equivalent to around 42-84mm.
Focusing is automatic from infinity down to 0.35m (14 inches). This gives a macro magnification ratio of 0.24x - approximately one quarter life size. There's no manual option, but you can lock focus by maintaining first pressure on the shutter release, and reframe to compensate for off-centre subjects, etc. Automatic diaphragm and full aperture metering, compatible with all exposure and metering modes. Maximum aperture is f/4-5.6, and the lens stops down to f/22-32. As with all Vectis lenses, aperture settings are controlled from the camera body, and all communication between the two is electronic.
This lens is one of the smallest AF zoom lenses ever made, at only around 52mm (2 inches) long on the camera, 60mm (2.3 inches) in diameter and a featherweight 120g. Multicoated (MC) glass for reduced flare and light loss, with increased contrast and colour fidelity. The dedicated bayonet fit lens hood (included) reduces the chance of flare even further, and reverses over the front of the lens when not being used. Compact 40.5mm filter thread. The zoom control has a rubber surface for smooth operation, and the lens is splash proof, so you can use it safely in light rain or snow - but not underwater!
Minolta V series lenses seem to be disappearing fast and this is the smallest made for Vectis and RD cameras, so grab this one while you can...

Top quality APO design
Auto or manual focusing
Compact and lightweight
For Minolta Vectis S-1
For Minolta Vectis S-100
For Minolta RD 3000

This is a excellent quality Minolta V telephoto zoom lens for the Vectis APS SLR and RD 3000 digital cameras (see below), in very good condition and boxed with original lens hood, caps and instruction leaflet. These cameras use a unique lens mount and only Minolta V lenses are directly compatible, though there was an almost mythical adapter for using Minolta 35mm AF lenses
This lens uses APO (Apochromatic) construction with 11 elements in 9 groups, which gives improved picture quality by ensuring that all colours are focused sharply at the same point. On the APS models the 80-240mm range is equivalent to a 100-300mm zoom on a 35mm camera. This is a great range for a wide variety of subjects, including sports, wildlife, portraits, candids and many more. On the RD 3000 DSLR it's equivalent to around 120-360mm.
Focusing is automatic or manual, down to an extremely close 1.2m (3.9 feet). This gives a macro magnification ratio of 0.24x - approximately one quarter life size. Power-driven manual focusing ring provided (this isn't an option on all V lenses), plus you can lock focus by maintaining first pressure on the shutter release, and reframe to compensate for off-centre subjects, etc. Automatic diaphragm and full aperture metering, compatible with all exposure and metering modes. Maximum aperture is f/4.5-5.6, and the lens stops down to f/32-38. As with all Vectis lenses, aperture settings are controlled from the camera body, and all communication between the two is electronic.
Despite the long zoom range and close focusing, this lens is extremely compact, at under 85mm (3.25 inches) long on the camera, and a lightweight 250g. Multicoated (MC) glass for reduced flare and light loss, with increased contrast and colour fidelity. The dedicated bayonet fit lens hood (included) reduces the chance of flare even further, and reverses over the front of the lens when not being used. Compact 46mm filter thread. Both zoom and focus controls have rubber surfaces for smooth operation, and the lens is splash proof, so you can use it safely in light rain or snow - but not underwater!
Minolta V series lenses seem to be disappearing fast and this is the best telephoto zoom lens ever made for Vectis and RD cameras, so grab one of these while you can...
