Description:
I have a collapsible M-mount Summicron 50mm that is made in Wetzlar, Germany paired with a 12585 Leitz hood for sale. I will not be breaking up the lens and hood for sale, because the hood really goes very well with this lens. [I might be including some E39 filters as part of the sale, if and when I find them. Possible filters might be hard to find Hoya K2 Yellow and a B+W 81A, possibly others as well. As with the hood, I will not be selling these separately also. I will update as soon as possible.

Condition
The lens is in good condition. The serial number is 11XXXXX, which places it's manufacturing date between 1953-1954. This lens is more than 50 year old!
Glass is clean and clear, no fungus, no fogging etc. Mechanicals are working smoothly as expected of Leitz craftsmanship. Focusing is smooth with the distance scale marked in imperial units (i.e. feet); minimum focus distance is 1m/3ft IIRC. The aperture ring click stops crisply and the apertures ranges from f/2 to f/16. I do not remember if half stops are also click stopped. Lens barrel pulls out smoothly and is locked positively through about an 1/8 turn. When locked, barrel does not wobble.
Cosmetically, the lens has no gorges, dents or deep scratches. Due to it's more than half a century of existence, user marks are unavoidable on the exterior of the lens itself (see pictures). Lens mount is good functionally. All legends and marking are intact.
With the above, I would conservatively rate it as a 8 according to CS guidelines.
Leitz 12585 Lens Hood
The Leitz 12585 hood is usable for Leitz 35/2.8, 35/3.5, 50/2, 50/2.8, 50/3.5 as indicated on the lens hood body. However, I have managed to use it on the 1st version Summicron 35mm (8 elements) before. In retrospect, this lens hood is pretty versatile. If you are using many of the older generation of Leitz 35mm and 50mm optics (M and LTM), this would be a very useful accessory. As in the picture below, no dings or dents, and the hood is not bent.
