Description:
This lens is the king of 35mm, sell it as change hobby, the last lens in my hand. Jump ship. The AEG version of this lens is well known to perform better than MMJ, but many AEG lens can't perform as good as when they are made; for this lens in my test it is in really perfect status in terms of image quality. I was shocked as it produces no pupple borders at wider open in strong daylight! And the sharpness at wideopen is amazing.
Compared to the latest ZE 35 1.4 (850 g),
it is smaller and lighter (600g);
it produce the most typical Zeiss color however the color of ZE version is close to made in japan lens (Contax AEG was made of schott glass while ZE version use HOYA glass only);
it offers low image distortion (~0.6% tested at SLRlensreview.com), while ZE version is ~1.48%.
The lens comes with CONTAX-EOS adapter but do notice that this lens might hit the mirror of 5D at infinity; welcome to try and test the lens with your Canon camera before making decision, interested pl PM or SMS your approximately reasonable offer amout.

Anyone interested are welcome to test the lens with no obligation, or if you are only want to compare this lens with 35L you are also welcome; I am also interested to see the difference of this lens from 35L, lol. D35 1.4 should produce much better boken than 35L, I wonder how is the difference in sharpness at wide open.

Many friends ask for my expected price, the expected is now around 1300$, this lens is great for you if you are looking for a 35mm lens with better image quality than 35L. I know some guys love to buy some mint lens for collection, to be honest the condition of this lens is fair but not for collection, and note that the mint condition lens is above 2000$ and not easy to find. Welcome to test the lens with no obligation if your offer is not far away with my expected price.

Asking for 1250, don't miss the chance to by a well-performed D35; the price of this lens on ebay is above 2000$ for same AEG version. Priced for quick deal, I have jumped out old manual lens.

Up for the day, I checked those D35 AEG on ebay, thay sell this lens above 2000$ but with similar or even worse lens condition than this one! Most of the lens on ebay has signs of disassembly! In my mind disassembly is the worst thing for a D35 lens, it will strongly affect the image quality. However for the lens in my hand the only problem is some signs on the front and rear element coating which don't affect the image quality.
