Detailed Description:
This is a rare opportunity to own a vintage Canon FL55mm 1.2 lens (which needs no introduction) circa 1965 or thereabouts, preconverted using a custom brass mount by Ed Mika https://edmika.com/ which enables the previously FD mount lens (needing a converter to be mounted to any other system) to mount directly to any Canon EOS camera. All FD converters use another third party lens to adapt the image correctly onto the mirror / sensor, but this converter enables the original lens to be of the correct focal length and behave as if it was a manual focus lens made for EOS mount.
This takes out the degrading factor of the third party converter lens and results in images the same as the original lens on a film mount camera would have captured.
I thought I would keep this lens forever, it has had special value to me and I used it to take pictures of my three children when they were newborn. But as I have now converted to Fuji after a lifetime of being a Canon user (and do not actually have any Canon body left) this is just an expensive paperweight and I think its time to pass it on to a new owner for it to continue to make beautiful images as it was intended to do.
For those familiar with the lens, it is built like a tank and weighs heavy as a grenade and shows some signs of wear but is in excellent condition considering its age, its older than me by a few years. See the pictures.
The brass mount creates a unique 'gold ring' that is metal and not just plastic, a truly different look.
Comes with original caps, front and back, but no box.
