In following with a previous B&S thread, a number of those items previously posted for sale are no longer available. However as a result of miscommunication with a potential buyer this lens is up again for sale.
Leica Summicron-R 35mm f/2 (Serial 3283206)
This is my very first Leica lens, the one that started it all. f/2 means this lens can be used down to almost abysmal light levels, yet at wide open there is high contrast and a lovely smooth 'look' to an image, plus nice bokeh as a bonus. f/2.8 onwards and the sharpness cuts like a knife. Only weakness I can see is the softness in the most extreme corners, visible on a FF camera. But if you're going to worry about sharpness in this zone, then you would likely be unhappy with the vast majority of Canon L wide angle lenses. Other strengths are low CA and very low geometric distortion.
Condition: 8/10. Noticeable paint loss on the barrel. From the 1980s and looks obviously used. No ugly dings or dents. Functions perfectly mechanically, and optics clean and clear. Comes with original rear cap and generic front cap.
Price: $500 or near offer. Remember that you're getting a nice user sample here that obviously delivered the goods and therefore was used a fair deal and is priced cheaply. If you want a minty sample be prepared to pay US$700 (about S$1000 with shipping) or more. You will NOT find a cheaper copy of this lens on Clubsnap and production of Leica R lenses has already ceased, so they are not going to be available for long.
Adapter: An AF confirm adapter is available at an additional $40.
