Equipment Model: Spiralite Macrovar Macro Converter Lens *RARE*
Price (S$): $80
Description:
This is a rare variable magnification macro converter lens from Spiratone that converts any 50mm lens into a "pseudo-macro" lens, with a user changeable reproduction ratio from 1:4.5 to 1:1.18 measured at 2" for a 50mm lens. This variable magnification is a feature which you cannot get with regular close-up filters that has only one fixed diopter power. This would give you higher magnitifcations (at better than 1:2!) than any +1 to +10 close-up filters that you could get in the market.
Although designed primarily for a 50mm lens, it would also work well with lenses with FL between 35 - 70mm. The rear thread of this converter is 52mm but I would include a 52->55 step up ring if you are using it on a lens with 55mm front thread. Sample pictures below were taken using my Sony 18-55mm kit lens.
Hood used only for support, not included in sale
Converter turned to max. reproduction ratio of 1:1.18 (measured for 50mm lens at 2")
Step-up ring would be included if you are using 55mm diameter lenses
The growth marks of ths shellfish is clearly visible in this sample shot
Tiny quartz vein inside a rock
Real Name: ky
