The Sony DSC-F717 (5 MP) has a fast, bright and sharp Carl Zeiss F2.0-2.4 lens. The IR blocking filter had been replaced with a digital multi-coated clear glass (not plain glass!) to minimise the chances of sensor reflection and hot spots from occuring. This model used to be very popular with IR shooters because it supports native IR shooting via the Nightshot mode but you are limited to a fixed aperture of F2.0 and shutter speed of 1/60s or slower. But with this IR Mod, Full Manual, Aperture and Shutter priority modes could be accessed and used without restrictions as per normal. This camera can produce rich contrasty colours depending on the filter and Post-Processing sequence you use. Unlike other IR-Modded cameras where the IR-Block filter is replaced by a fixed IR-pass filter, you are free to use whichever IR filter you like on this full-spectrum modded F-707, allowing you plenty of flexibility to use various kinds of IR filters to achieve different effects. As this is a camera with an EVF and LCD (so is "liveview"), you can see what you are shooting before you press the shutter button.
Camera is in pretty good condition but there are some minor paint wear on the body, especially on the mode dial. No fungus on glass but there is one very tiny light scratch on the coating of the front glass which does not affect images ((smaller width than the dust specks on the glass). The built-in flash had been disabled because when it is activated, the flash white balance would override the custom white balance resulting in an unuseable picture. Camera would accept various types of memory sticks. Comes with front cap, charger, 1x USB data cable, 1x original NP-FM30 battery (~ an hour usage) and 1x 3rd party NP-FM50 battery (~ 2 hours plus usage), camera strap and 1x 16Mb memory stick (for testing purposes only, you could buy bigger sticks very cheaply nowadays).
