Chocked full of manual options and yet portable enough to serve as a camera fit for a wide range of occasions. Hassle free in operation and extremely reliable, it has never let me down. Excellent battery life for i often charge the battery pack as seldom as once between 2 or 3 photography shoots. (note: Battery mileage vary according to shooting regime).
It is a very nice and sturdy camera with excellent build quality, not a surprise since it is made in Japan, an increasing rarity for cameras situated between the Point and Shoots and the Prosumer series. Some of the more vaunted features of this camera include the 12x optical zoom, the 0mm macro mode and the manual focus mode.
The generous 12 Optical Zoom is perfect for photo opportunities in places of interests such as the zoo or the bird viewing galleries. A wide angle lens starting from 28mm (wide) to 336mm (Telephoto) ensures that the needs of the photographer is more or less adequately taken care of.
The 0mm macro mode literally puts your camera adjacent on your subject ensuring sharpness and details for macro photography.. The manual focus mode will appeal to you during occasions when challenging photo opportunities makes auto focus difficult.
