Just purchased a Peak Design Large Camera Cube and found that it's way too large for my use. As you can see, this insert can easily swallow a Nikon 200-500mm with D500, even up to a 400mm f/2.8. Also comes with full set of dividers and a lifetime warranty from Peak Design.
I always found camera bags to be unsuitable for travelling and long distance hikes, and prefer to use a camera cube with an excellent bag system like Osprey to allow additional space for other items.
