Detailed Description:
Brand new, package was opened carefully to inspect the plate but was not mounted.
Ordered from Bhphoto together with the RRS base plate (as it was the only version available) to compare. Decided to go with the RSS in the end as I don’t shoot portrait orientation as often.
The Kirk is definitely more sturdy than modular L plates due to its single piece design. The portrait orientation also cradles the left camera strap area which provides slightly better stability.
