Wireless Shutter Remote Release

The best wireless shutter release in the market now is from this company... http://www.smdv.co.kr/en/
Most of the birders who require instantaneous response are using it. Super long distance too.

The version for D800/D800e/D4/D4s/D700/D300/D300s is awesome as the receiver is very very small and requires no batteries. But for the other models like D7000/D600/D610 that uses a usb connection, it gets a little more bulky but you still get the great range and response time.

Very interesting product. Will call OP to check prices :)

Just to correct some misconception I saw on this thread. The D610 has IR receiver on both front and back of camera, hence no need to point the IR remote shutter release at the front of the camera. As an aside, the Sony NEX-6 only has IR receiver on the front, so must point at front of camera, which can be a bit clumsy at times.

To answer another poster's post, I also encountered some issues when using ML-L3. The shutter refused to fire regardless pointing at front or back. Switching battery also no use. Have to change from remote shutter mode and change back again, sometimes for a few times. So the moral of the story is, either get a wired remote (which I don't like), or always test before the critical shoot, and not to switch mode anymore after tested.

D610 also has self timer and exposure delay options to sorta mimic remote shutter release. However, they are not useful for time critical shots e.g. fireworks. Hence a remote shutter release is still a very useful tool to have.

Gotten the SMDV RFN-4s recommended by DD. Works great and the receiver is so small, I left it on the D800e all the time. My only complaint is the lack of a lock for long exposures.

Bro holding the trigger button for a couple of seconds will engage the bulb lock. Press the button again to disengage.

Otherwise I'll likely order Amazon. Thanks for the help!

Got it from SLR Revo in Funan. Its $15 more than what OP is selling but they were out of stock when I bought mine.

Read this,

Hi catchlight, thanks I did and went to check out OP online ... but they didn't have the model in their remotes catalogue, so I had to ask.

Unless I got the wrong OP photo.

Sorry - newbie!

Yea ... may be why i couldn't find it on their website.

I really do hope i got the right OP! Google is my only friend =(

OP stands for Orient Photo I think. I've never bought anything from them. Found out that SLR Revo carries those as well so I just bought from them.

Do you know if this adapter hits/blocks larger lens ? I have the Aputure pro coworker II and it touches my 28-300mm, and cannot be used with larger lens like the tamron 150-600mm.

This looks shorter (Doesn't stick out as much) and might clear most lens.

Not needing batteries on receiver is great too

I used it on my 300/2.8. cleared it by a mile.

How much is this currently at the local stores?
