The Wiral Lite is designed to send a camera down a tight cable via remote control. But there is nothing stopping you from sending a microphone instead.
Of course, the audio is usable only when the Wiral Lite stops moving. A "H" shaped cable configuration with 3 Wiral units will reach any grid in a room. But some heavy coding and hacking will be needed for a usable remote interface.
Still, 2 or 3 parallel cables with X-Y capsules or parabolic mics will pick up un-miked attendees at indoor events.
