Hi I thought of getting a wide angle converter, does anyone know the price range and brands to look out for?
Thks!

for what camera? the price varies with the size

oops forgot to say... dvx 102... i know its wide enough liao but just wanna see if can hit close fisheye feel not... hee...

prob a 0.6x would have enuf distortion to look a little like fisheye.. price is ard $450 to $650 i think

you will have hard time finding any cheap ones. The Century optics 0.7x is probably the only one that can do it without vignetting. But it cost about $1k. I have tried many brands, didn't work.

I got a dedicated fisheye from Raynox.. works very well for the fisheye but clarity wise is acceptable only. Of cse, the samn thing is freaking heavy!! Price was $850 I think... local disty is Gillman.

Century optics is superb.. now known as scineider liao.. like tommon siad, its much steep but light n quality should be better. Check out expandore for those.

i think if can use a fisheye for wedding establishing shot will be nice man... will be good for creating spaces and mixing... know of any "cheapest" brand? cos i'll definitely do post edit la...

Careful not to buy the cheap ones from Raynox, Jim from McGill brought one over to my studio to test, it vignets pretty bad. Anyway some people really hates that Fish-eye effects when used wrongly.

I advise using any lens attachement on any events shoot. Things happens pretty fast, may miss an important moment when taking on/off the attachements.

Thks for your pointers! Appreciate that! Didn't tot of it actually...

tommon is right. I only use the fisheye before the event starts.. try to get some nice shots here n there. Use sparingly!
