Why shooting film?

For me shooting film i find more intimate. It stimulates and makes you think more about each shot, not to mention the final results of film.
Exposure, composition, focus..... its completley pure and in your own control. Since dipping back into film mid last year, i have found shooting film has improved my digital photography and the overall way in which i think about composing an image.

Because digital is a step backwards..

i guess both move side by side on the equal path.

with the demand of digital, so does analog.

Film forces me to shoot with discipline and precision. What I haven't experience from shooting with a digital camera.. You think twice when you click the shutter.

Then there's the process of waiting. When you wait for your pictures to be processed, you get a kind of anticipation.. the kind where a child wait for days for a deserved digimon device..

Film is at its climax in photography, digital has many flaws that will be covered in time, but not now.

The images produced by film makes subjects look ALIVE. It gives you a feeling as if you still had been in it at the time the picture is taken.

In order to use my film cameras, I shoot film.

i started with digital, but decided to go into film last year. if there's something i learnt, it's shutter discipline. and forcing myself to anticipate the right moment to press the shutter. and now i'm also more disciplined when shooting digital as well.

anyway the whole process of shooting with film, from loading the film to waiting for the film to be developed... just love it. the only part i hate is scanning.

I still remember superb quality pictures produced by Fuji Velvia 50 ASA slide film, u canot compare with a budget DSLR, i donot know about Pro DSLRs , i have a Canon 1000 D .

because i think it is gonna be hard to produce photos like this with modern lens and digital CCDs.
