Why do you choose Pentax?

sometimes its really because you have set un unrealistic target. remember that at slightly above $1000, the K100D is still the cheapest feature-packed DLSR in its class. I really do not want to recommend waiting for the price to go down further. I'm sure it may slide further later on but why deprive you of the pleasure of owning and using it now?

Well since I just got my K10D, thought of looking for a backup body for my son to play around with. The prices for the K100D here is pretty much the usual 20% off the agent's RRP. I just might order a K100D or K110D body online. At today's prices, that works out to about S$720/$620 respectively before shipping and GST. All in still cheaper even with the hassle and wait.

It's quite ridiculous to compare Singapore's market and USA's market for Pentax. Small Pentax market plus non-existant popularity of Pentax makes it hard for Shirio to drive the price down further.

While I agree a comparison with the US is not comparable, nonetheless, like HK we do get a fair share of tourists buying consumer electronics. And HK prices are certainly cheaper than over here. Perhaps it is because they don't have a GST...
