Who wants a Leica X1?

Can we have a show of hands who would pay USD $1999 for a Leica X1 in favour of say a D300 or m4/3 with M Lens?

Will be interesting I think to see if Leica manages to win anyone of us over with the X1.

Don't know yet. A lot of people suggest to get an used M8 instead.

It's very hard to say without first trying it out.

Intuitively, I am leaning towards buying a lens with the same money. But I am not sure, depends on how good the camera is.

It will be an interesting camera but still skeptical if it will outperform semi pro DSLR in the same price range. I think it will become a legend or a classic in future.

I don't see pros buying this one. Maybe rich amateurs. Who wants a fixed 35mm focal length? I mean, it might have good image quality and all that, but a fixed focal length lens which isn't interchangeable isn't great news, at least for me. If i wanted a compact camera, it would have to be the Canon S90.

I was in RJ Lewis in London 2 days ago and they had a preview test
Awesome looking
They were selling for 1700 plus English pound
Didnt take a picture of it but felt it in my hand
Took the catalogue back
Wish I have the dollar to blow on it
But for that money I top up a bit can get a M8 second hand
