Who develop your film ?

Hi all,

I want to use my R2A, but I find no place to process films. Who do develop your films ?

I also use R2A. U can have lab develop it at City hall area. Ruby at peninsula hotel. Konota at peninsula plaza. Riceball at Adelphi only do B&W. The colour lab at Adelphi.

What are the prices to develop a roll of B&W at either ruby, konota or riceball? I'm looking into just developing only. Thanks.

I think u ask develop and scan or something, but like that scan around 9.. Quite high. May be develop 5sgd ? My memory not so good.

E6 is process for positive color film.

Yes, you can develope without contact. However, it's not too much question of price than question of quality. Each time I ask to process a film (and I have 50 films here already processed, some by me), I got a film not very contrast and full of dust. Very disappointed.

not sure if for slides whether contrast is an issue in developing. Certainly for b/w if i want a specific dev, i'd do it myself.

In fact, I'm about to give up shooting film because I can not find good place to develop and I've no time to do it by myself. At the end of the day, film does nothing better than digital, just a different way (more pleasant) to make a photo.

If you have time and want to learn film go to it and process by your self, it's very enjoyable, I did that when I started photo 20 years ago (no digital at this time). If you have no time and just want to shoot a lot and not waste time with film processing, go to digital.

But definitly, don't count on anybody to take care of your film as much as you can or you'll be as disapointed as me.

!! photo hub charged me $7+ for c41+1stop dev.

i think i got my $12 wrong. i might send my first roll of film to ruby since they charge $3.50 for c41 process!

rem that i said just process. No prints whatsoever. U can get the same price at konota, which is often my preferred choice for c41. My slides and b/w go to ruby for sure.

I remember using RGB Color many years ago when they were located near Cairnhill carpark, I find their E6 and C41 processing consistent and good. Not sure about their rates, though I believe they're more expensive. Anyone know if they're still as good?

RGB has closed down since and been taken over by Fotohub. They used to be the cheapest for slides at $3.50 a roll. Not anymore apparently.

I find fotohub's chemical to be better maintained and i find it worth every cent considering potential wastage. Btw they develop it at the beach road outlet. I personally avoid ruby aft i tried it aft once, as the chemicals do not seem 'fresh' by looking at the results from my slide.

i;ve always had good results with ruby. They used to be able to do cibachrome prints as well which is brilliant.
