Hmmm... Actually have tried.. Doesnt seem to work at all... Will give it a try again and post uncorrected results... Anyway, have now developed a workflow to take care of the problem - first use blower to blow away dust, then a lens cleaning paper to take care of anything that remains. Take 10-15 secs.. much less than it would take if I had to use ICEBut then, you know I am enamoured with the scanner so all faults seem trivial

Have posted 2 scans - one without the dust brush and one with. You can see for yourself that the dust brush is almost useless... Does cause some reduction in dust but so less as to be useless.
Had to throw my slide on to the floor to get that much dust on it - but I guess the effect is clear now!

bought mine at $550 (GST included) too from Simon at Cathay Photo Marina Square. It's better to buy there cos of the lucky draw and scratch-and-win ;p
Have tried out some slides but it seems that Autofocus didn't work very well. Some slides which look sharp under a loupe turned out to be soft. There're a few which turned out sharp. Anyone encountered the same problem?
