White Balance in A1

Can someone explain to me the usage of WHITE BALANCE on the A1. So many to choose but dunno how to use. They have the following :

1..Auto White Balance
2..Daylight
3..Tungsten
4..Fluorescent
5..Cloudy
6..Shade
7..Flash
8..Custom White Balance.

Does that mean in a room i have to use "SHADE" instead of AWB ?
