with thin dof, it is often a lot of hit and miss... but you can get around that by shooting a sequence with small adjustments to your focusing distance.
working distance with the 50 is a little too short, unless you want to include a fair bit of the surrounding. the 75 and 90 would be better in these aspects. however, the VF is not the best for 70 or 90. as hacker suggested, use the 1.25 VF mag.
60mm f/1.2 hexanon......;p
anyone had photo of 60mm, 75mm and lastly 90mm?
Get the 75 Lux, focuses to .7m and is f1.4! Has very, very nice bokeh also. You can also consider the Zeiss 85mm f2, the Nikkor 8.5cm f2, or the Nikkor 10.5cm f2.5 also. All are Sonnars and render portraits to perfection. ;p
i think it's somewhat up to personal preference, i too find the asph lenses a tad too sharp, preferring the older pre-asph versions...Lux75 focuses to 0.75m & Cron75 to 0.7m
Portrait on M8 50-75mm-probably the older lenses not Apo or Asph.
