Hi

I plan to try Mac system on h.264 editing instaed of APR CS5 current.

Due to budget and new in Mac system, Need your advice for best macbook for fast editing (SDE) work.
and value for money.

Where can i get better deal & offer in loacl shop currently ?
with 0 % installment plan ?

Your kindly help is much appreciated.
Thanks :)

im using a late 2008 macbook pro model, core 2 duo (2.4ghz), 4gb ram, 9400M & 9600M GT graphics and its kinda more than enough for me. Well not really more than enough, well its sufficient. with what you are getting in the new macbook pro models, what with quad core and all, i'm sure they'll be much better. just remember to upgrade your ram. or you can check the local apple store if they have good refurbished models.

I am using the latest Macbook Pro (early 2011) 15" 8GB RAM with FCP X.

Quite smooth... tested with FS100 footages in AVCHD.

I suspect FCP 7 will be less responsive since it is still 32 bit.

For SDE work ... Just get the fastest Macbook pro and whack max ram.

FCP 7 is going to be slower than FCPX but regardless, both will need you to max out your system.

I managed to export 4+ min clip (Max resolution @ 1080i, Full HD, raw clip in H.264) in 2mins 30secs flat. Really impt for SDE when time is never enough
