Which lenses do you bring with you on holidays?

If u r using A55 or newer models, than luckily for you, there is Sweep Panorama.
As long as you are not taking moving objects, Sweep Pano usually works like a charm and will be more than wide enough for almost everything. Playing with the settings, Sweep vertically usually give the better results.

As its stitched from numerous shots and downsized, its has very high Depth of Field and sharpness for landscape.

Of course its not as perfect as a good wide angle due to artifacts and distortions created during the stitching.
But for leisure shots during traveling, I'm more than happy with it.
BTW, its not difficult to stitch manually too with Photoshop.

good part with Pano sweep is you can take wide angle shots bad is you;re stuck with JPEG photo :-( But 11-16 serves me well during my trip and pairing it with 16-80 was more than enough anyways I dont need longer lens as most will be landscape shots

I used to bring A700 with 11-18, 16-105 and 50mm Macro, now I would bring A850 with 28-70, 70-210 and 100mm Macro

One word on your gear bro very heavy lolz hope you dont bring your A850 VG my A77 plus 11-16 and 16-80 plus my lappy is back breaking already :-(

its ok f2.8 poor lighting situation is yes not fats enough but with newer cams you can bump up the ISO and retain tons of details

I would bring a Tamron 17-50 and pair with either a manual 85mm/100mm or a Minolta 100-300 APO depending on what I expect to shoot.

To get the correct exposure, u can change
- Aperture
- ISO
- Shutter speed
- Add fill flash or other lighting

Changing either one comes with trade-off.
If u need a certain depth-of-field for landscape which for e.g. require F5.6, then the lens would need to be set at F5.6 and using a fast lens would not solve your problem.

What u may need is a tripod (or use Handheld Twilight mode or any digital processing techniques in your cam).
Too often, I see people using fast lenses to compensate for poor lighting but used in the wrong manner.
