That was around the same time that they quoted me $100 for sensor cleaning of my D60...

Really must go there and try my luck... Need them to get rid of some dirt on my sensor...

From my understanding, sensor cleaning for all DSLR is $25 before GST. Maybe there was other issues which added up the cost? ( Replacement of parts, lens cleaning etc )

From my previous chat with the service manager, all evaluation for repair is free. Evaluation is usually base on an rough estimation of parts & service which may be chargeable for the repair/servicing. Some may ask, why rough estimation? I was told again by the SM that sometimes customer are urgent to find out the possible charges of repair/servicing on the spot, hence the technician may not have sufficient time to investigate throughly on the equipment to provide the exact parts estimation.

Another thing to note is that Nikon doesn't not charge us for sensor cleaning while the cameras are under warranty. General checking is free as well, however General servicing is chargeable depending on the model. ;)

I see...

Really have to go back there and ask again when I'm free. Maybe there was some miscommunication...

Interesting that you say sensor cleaning is free under warranty. I remember the warranty T&C at NSC mentioning that it does not cover sensor cleaning...
