got such thing as hotshoe cover?

i want to know also.

As far as I know, both Viewfinder and myself had tried to ask TCW, Photoguide, CP, AP and many other camera shops but we met with no success.

However, we did not try the Olympus Service Centre and as far as I know, the hotshoe cover comes with Olympus digicam. Maybe you can try calling them and ask if it is available as a spare part.

Hope that helps. :)

The $0.00 hotshoe cover ;p

Ingredients:

One black film cannister (Kodak, Ilford, Agfa) available for free from any minilab world-wide ;)

One pair of sharp scissors

Method:

Remove cap from cannister and throw in bin.

Carefully cut a piece of the cannister from the top lip down to the base and a few mm wider than your hotshoe. (remember it's curved so you'll need it a bit wider than you think)

Trim back to size. Use the edge with the lip on it facing 'up' from the hotshoe as the ridge allows you a convenient fingernail grip.

Viola .. one hotshoe cover at no cost and best of all it takes about 2 minutes to make.

I don;t know about the hotshoe cover but the last time I asked Olympus about their lens cap, I was told they don't carry parts so I should call their distributor who is.... Cathay Photo who told me not available.

Anyway, I've lost my flash cover as well so I'm interested if anyone knows where to get a replacement.

Just curious. WHy do you need a hot shot cover? You would be likely to famaged it if you dun cover it.

For viewfinder cover, most use it so that stray light do no enter the camera via it. Mostly for long exposure/night scene.

The main reason is to protect the contacts from dirt, dust and moisture.

I never buy replacements .. got an endless supply of film cannister hotshoe covers :)
