Hi All,

I'm a new owner of an EOS 10D. Bought it from eBay USA.

In any case, it didn't come with a strap.

Anyone knows where i can get a Canon EOS strap for the 10D? Or are there good value alternatives?

Thanks,
Louis

Can go to Cathy photo or TCW to get your straps.

Go Cathay or TCW to get Optech straps. Canon straps are crap!

get the op/tech or matin straps...

Any camera strap will do. The Optech ones are good and comfy.

Thanks halfmoon, virgo, jbma and evenstar!

Any idea how much am I expected to pay for the recommended Optech strap?

Thanks

I bought mine for $25 or $30 from a forumner. Think the name is pearly. Elastic and less weight on my shoulders.

I was looking for one last week at CP too! Optech ones range from $20 to $40.

I think the E 1 is still ok though.....

I prefer "Strapless" actually.... Much easier to handle, and undo things... especially when you are in a rush.. and need a fast response, the strap does get in my way.... ;p :sticktong

Thanks for the suggestion.

But does the E1 handgrip require a battery grip ? or does it mount under the tripod area?

Oh... yes... for E1, you must have battery grip..... I do not think it can mount under tripod area though.......

i always wondered how do you change lens when you are strapless ?
I often dont like the straps but find them useful when you need to change
lens in a hurry, cos it leaves your other hand free

also anyone know where to get those narrow straps ?
I see most photojournalist use them as they dont get in the way.

I hardly sling it ard my neck even when changing lens ... maybe time to change my habit ... ;p

It depends on individual. For me doing weddings and portraits, I prefer having straps so that my cam can hang on my neck after long hours and if I can't find a place to rest. Can't imagine still having to grip the cam after a few hours of shooting!

i will prefer a neck strap over a hand grip. though i wun mind these 2 together :D

I tend to carry my lowerpro when I shoot, and so, I just flip the bag cover open, and change lens, dropping the lens I use and putting the other lens on....

What type of narrow straps are you refering to??? Is it for the neck??

You can actually use both together.

E1 have a straps buckle that will allow this combination. ;)

Usually, I carry my bag, and if I am not shoooting, just dump it into the bag.... ;)
