Hi bros, hope u guys can gimme some directions to buy new or mint x700 body. Thanks :)

That's a tough one... Either through a second hand shop or private sale. I bought mine from ebay. Had to trust the guy that it was mint... and it was, but I was lucky, some others might not have been.

You're better off finding it in the 2nd hand shop if you want to inspect it. or post a WTB on the buy and sell thread.

Hello, saw some sets at camera workshop, one unit selling S$250 only....actually me also eying... :bsmilie:

care to share with me what is so attractive about the x700?

Hee hee... actually, you're quite right... I don't know what is the attraction for myself, I tend to overuse my x-300s but haven't been really acquianted with my 700. The only thing I can think of is that it came after the 300s and thus was updated...

Anyone else care to share why?

if u got lobang on the x700, let me noe as well..
I'm also interested. saw a used x700 at the flea market but at the 250 range also... :(

you may want to try cash converters. sometimes they've got some x-700's on sale, though they're not new or mint. Mostly in used condition, but i've also seen my share of abused ones...

recently bought one in good condition together with an original 35-70 MD zoom for S$90. ($50 for the body and $40 for the lens). it's a real waste for a wonderful camera to end up in such a place. couldn't resist and had to rescue it... ;p

Well i went to TCW today and they have a few on sale. Not bad, priced at 220-280. But thats about it. Still considering cos im really not sure how to get the MF minolta lenses lah. Seems like not many shops have them.

Saw this auction too. Quite tempted, but when he emphasized so much on its used condition im actually quite scared. The scratch in the viewfinder etc.

The Motor Drive is another thing that im searching for, but it seems quite ex. TCW quoted me 200+ for a used one. Thats why they suggested that i go for the FM3A instead if my budget allows

X-700 is before the X-300s my friend.the set i saw at TCW is in good con't.

But alloy, why look for X-700 when you wanna sell your 9Xi??? :dunno:

Wanna sell my 9xi as i intend to go for a canon AF system and then either Nikon or Minolta for full manual system. I know its real expensive this way cos i will be investing in 2 system but wat to do, i like the canon AF system and canon "bu zheng qi" never come up with a manual system that is respectable. Many have advised me to go for nikon since i want manual and AF system but i dont know why, i jus feel like canon is the way to go for a AF system, and we can see that canon is proving that they are making serious attempts in capturing the digital market. In this way i would be able to get a relatively inexpensive yet powerful digital body in future as and when i want. No doubt nikon has a share in the dslr market, but it seems like their R&D had better buck up a little or canon is really gonna monopolise the market soon. I think their marketing tactic is good, lure ppl to invest in their lens system by offering relatively affordable digital bodies, and when ppl have started the lens collection its really very seldom that they wanna change anymore.

I take it that you're going for a Canon DSLR system right? I wouldn't give up my 9xi for the world (if I had one :D )

As for a full manual system... get the X-300, it's lighter and somehow is better on the hands. Might also be cheaper! heehee... good luck!

For the canon, its not really the DSLR system that im after at the moment. Im still quite attracted to film due to the ease and colour and cost etc. But when the DSLR system is more mature and prices and specs are better, i will go for it. Who knows that might be in the very near future. :)

Hmm... I see where you are driving it right now. Sorry for jumping the wagon.

Ok, IMO, a nikon might be better in offering you all the benefits of future expansion. Yes, while both Nikon and Canon boast the ability to use existing lenses on their DSLR and SLR, I think only nikon is a safe bet that they will continue to produce based on a backward compatibility strategy, that's how they won people over with their interchangeable manual and auto mounts many, many moons ago.

I cannot safely say that for the Canon... but then again, many people have claimed that the canon DSLR is the way to go... hmm choices choices! I know how you feel! Good luck!

I agree, wouldn't your 9Xi do just about everything an X700 does when you set it to manual mode? (i.e. manual focus, manual exposure, etc.) The X700 has aperture, programme AE and manual exp modes, all of which your 9Xi should have also. Both cameras won't work without batteries. The only difference would be you won't need to advance the film manually.

just my 2cts worth...

I understand wat u guys mean. But the feel u get from a classic full manual slr body and that of a modern af slr body is different. Dont know how to describe lah, maybe its nostalgic reason as my first camera body that my dad bought me was a MF slr cam when i was 9. Its was stolen during my teens and then from then on i was using af slr. As for why selling the 9xi, as im going to switch to the canon system and theres no point in keeping this camera as its lens and flash cannot be used on the nikon or any minolta MF slr if i decide to get the x700. But after walking for a few more shops today i think the nikon FM3A is a better choice for MF slr as the lens selection in the 2nd hand, third party, original lens market is much bigger. Not so much problems in getting parts and lenses etc.

If only u sold your camera like 6 months ago..... at least I can get a feel of a pro camera body... not that I'm complaining about the Dynax 7...... :D But really I would think that for anyone looking to take the plunge into SLRs, what alloy has for sale is really a good buy...... at the price he's willing to let go at......... and alloy hor...... must sell to a worthy owner who also makes good use of camera lar..... otherwise a waste of a good thing.............. :D

Hi, i have a X700. Perfect condition, only viewfinder dirty. No scratches!!

I wish to sell it for SGD$450, price is definitely negotiable after viewing.

Please drop me an email at ryan_oscar_2000@yahoo.com if you are interested in viewing the camera...
