Was wondering which Sony store in SIN where I can try out the Sony new camcorder XDCAM EX or do I have to go to Expandore? Thanks

Expandore stocks should have arrived or coming soon. Not sure if u can see it at the pro gallery. I think it is unlikely to be..

Do we have a stall that can test out Pro cam?...I guess it may don't have:dunno: Not like B&H

heard cp is opening a sony-related gallery in the premises where they previously sold their tripods.

Wow some people can afford the 11K for the cam? I will wait for the 16Gb Express Card to be out next month. 8Gb is just not enough. By then the package may be more attractive and also an extra batt at $500.

No point buying just the card - you need the cam as well right? :)

I've got really high hopes for this camera, especially considering it's around the same price point as the HVX is (i think i remember seeing a HVX going at around this price range, with some accessories included). It's got the Sony CineAlta branding, so it should produce some stunning images - however thus far I don't have much faith in sony with regards to the prosumer camera market. I personally find the sony cameras to look more 'sharp' and 'video-ish'. Hopefully this'll change my mine...

I tried out the EX1 at the recent Sony product launch. From the limited shooting we could do there I was very impressed. Would like to try it out outdoors and on more complex scenes though, to see how it looks in a more reallfie setting.

Will wait for a while before thinking about buying one of these. The media is still far too expensive for my liking. What I'd like to see is for this media to be adopted as a standard feature for lower end cams. Then we will get economy of scale, more competition and much lower prices.

Depends on the usage and work flow XDcam system is good when your doing rushes , news or wedding dinner coz it's compression rate is quite low but quality-wise not that great coz tested the hpx-500 and XDcam XD-350 both have 1/2 inch ccd but quality XDcam is uncomparable to the hpx500 but to have the XD format certainly saves u loadsa hardisk space and your rendering's much more easier due to it's low compression rate

Hi faiz. Wouldn't like to shoot weddings with 8GB or even 16GB Express cards. There's a reason they call this format $x$! OK it's SxS but I know how to interpret it. :D

Sorry to deviate abit, what do u guys think of JVC HD110.

I am very interested in the HD201, because it has a better codec and supports 50P. I tried out the HD110 and thought that the lens was very controllable compared with XL2 and XH-A1. The focussing is easy, and the image is really nice as well, but some of the switches seem a bit toy-like. Haven't been able to get my hands on the HD201 do far, but all good things come to those who wait, right? :)

Sounds pretty good with prime lens capability. But the XDCAM comes with 1/2" CCD and that should give a pretty interesting DOF. More keen to find out about the low light performance. SxS pricing is really mad at the moment!
