hi, i have bought Canon HF200, record some of my holiday scene. may i know where can i convert my HD movie to Disc(HD standard)? how much per disc(est 1hr):)

Are you looking for BluRay disc, or HD files on DVD or what?

yes something like blueray standard! i have a DVD recorder at home. but it is Mpeg 2 standard. any commerical company does it?:)

I recently picked up a brochure at a photo print shop... they do DVD conversion from VHS, VHS-C, Hi-8, Mini DV for $30/hr... doesn't state HD but you can check out if they do. They have a few outlets. Go to their website at http://www.fotohub.com

Do you have a BluRay player? If you only have a DVD recorder, most likely it would not be able to play HD files at HD resolution. Some DVD players can play HD files, but they get resampled to SD and then scaled up again if you have a HD display. This is not the best way to maintain quality!

An alternative to a BluRay player is a mediaplayer, but then you wouldn't need to burn any discs, you just need to copy the HD files to a thumbdrive or USB hard drive.

i want to do backup copy in few format. i can buy blueray player easily. my aim here to source a supplier to burn my hoilday video to HD standard in disc :)

Conversion to DVD can be done cheaply at $30 per hr because there are DVD set-top recorders readily available in the market that can instantly create the necessary menu pages with a few clicks of the remote. Blu-ray set-top recorders are not common in SG yet. But you'll find tons of them available in Japan.

Without a set-top Blu-ray recorder, the person who converts into Blu-ray discs for you will have to do Blu-ray authoring on a PC with a Blu-ray writer. There are ppe who can do this (I've produced wedding albums on Blu-ray since last yr), but the process is rather time consuming. You may have to pay more than $200 for just 1 hr of footage (a 25Gb Blu-ray disc now costs more than $15 locally).

Hope someone who owns a set-top Blu-ray recorder can help.

thank you for info!

Note that using a DVD recorder, you will get SD resolution. For HD you either need to author a BluRay disc or just copy the HD video data files to a media player. I can edit HD OK but I do not have a BR burner so would not be able to help you. FYI, I find a media player much more convenient than BR and cheaper to run cos no need to buy expensive blank discs.
