Er... unless you are bend on APS-C sensor camera, D810 is in a totally different class as compared to the 7DmkII. If Canon was to release the 5DmkIV, then Nikon might want to reduce pricing of D810 so as to make it more competitive.

Now, it drops even further down. With the price of $39XX on D810 its already attractive.
Anyways to TS, your next camera, for crop sensor, I'd say D7100 or the affordable D5300.
For D5300, it has some of D810 specs. Like EXPEED 4 and ISO of 100 - 12800.
