what is your current setup and what is your dream setup?

Hi all RFers. I like to start a dream thread for all to work towards.

I know many of you are collectors here but I would like to find out your current choice 1 lens + 1 camera + 1 film (if you are using film) setup that you own and what is your dream combo?

Dont be greedy and list all your stuff. 1 camera, 1 lens only. Mine will be:

current choice:
MP + Summilux 50mm chrome E43 + Provia 400X

dream choice:
MP LHSA + Summilux asph E43 chrome + Provia 400X

As Hookonclassic said: "one should always leave a target ahead so they dont reach the end of the road too soon." After hearing this, I really dropped the idea of the LHSA but I'm certain I will get it down the road.

I heard the sultans there got all kinds of custom editions and special made to order gear that one never even heard of, much less dream about.

Used to dream of the R-D1s with Ultron 35 1.4... since i got it, I've started dreaming about Minolta MLE with Rokkor 40 2 and Contax G2 but eventually settled for the Bessa R4A... next dream? i better not dream, its only 11pm! the road is long & winding!

I started photography with OM system & loved it. Mr Yoshihisa Maitani, designer of the OM system, was a Leica fan so when he designed the OM1, I supposed he incorporated the Leica feel to it. Its size & its shutter and how it sits in your hands come very close to a RF.
When I stumbled on Leica, I felt very at home as it reminded me of my beloved OM system - the size of the camera & lenses and the way it sat in my hands.

Naturally, my dream would then be.......
Olympus M-mount RF camera + Zuiko-M 40mmf2 pancake lens....


I'll glad there's still the Olympus Zuiko 40mmf2.8 LTM (the only LTM that Olympus made) that I can use.

I am atm very contended with my current setup. The M2 is a fabulous camera which I returned to even after owning an M6. It is slow and troublesome, but there's a certain charm about it. The metal advance lever, the simplier framelines, the manual film counter, it's a pleasure to use to hold.
The 35 lux series 7 is a flawed lens. It's incredibly prone to flare, not the sharpest tool in the shed and performs poorly across distance compared to my 35mm skopar. I need to dodge and burn the photos heavily but it sometimes gave me satisfying results. It's output just look different even if not technically perfect.
My current setup imo is rather lousy, but I have began to love their flaws. Now that the relationship started, hopefully I will stop worrying about equipments and concentrate on the pictures!
