Hi,

Saw on my profile something called 'infaction'. What does it mean? and what 5 points?

Can someone care to explain?

I think the Moderator 'Kei' mistaken my comments for something else. He left a message called 'Infaction' on my profile with a 'Violation of Guideline' with no explaination of it. I have read the guidelines and i dont see any reason for violation of any sort.

Can i ask for an explaination?

Also, are you giving me five points or are you taking away five points? And for what reason?

Can someone please explain why such a thing is happening to an innocent contributor?

Appreciate if the Moderators can be clear. If we accidentally go beyond something unacceptable, you can give us an explaination with clear instructions. In this way, as a participant, we can contribute in a right way.

hi jacephoto,

you posted 5 duplicate threads in the buy&sell section for your thread "WTB: Filter - Any brand WTB Thin UV Filter (77 mm)" 4 days ago, which were deleted by kei.

it is a minor guideline violation which incurs five points for the infraction.

hope this clarifies matters.

cheers,
z.

sometimes the forum server has got problems, it will laggggg

and you think nothing happens, so you spam the submit button; either that or you think it is your fault, so you type your reply in again, and then you press post, and nothing happens.

when suddenly you can post normally again, you have like 6 to 7 posts if you are as hasty as me :nono:

but then again, not sure if thread starting is the same, i know there are anti-duplicating functions, like exact posts being made or something will not be accepted, if i remember

by the way, additional feedback, a lot of people do not know how to delete their own posts or edit it.. so you get a lot of

"mods please delete this post i double post by accident".. a little bit of education goes a long way.. save yourself the trouble, and save yourself the angry hapless people who are unaware and think that you are ignoring them :bsmilie:

yes it will usually let you know if you hit the submit button twice by complaining about duplicate posts, which is why i'm puzzled about seeing duplicate posts.

that depends... i forgot the time limit for dupes, should be around 5min.

scenario, if you press submit, happen so it takes a long time, then u press back, and submit again, or u refresh, within 5 mins, it will show you the dupe post thing.

happen so if you press submit, then it give u a blank, then u go for coffee, come back, refresh again, then it will submit again...

i think maybe its around 1min not 5... or maybe 30s...

let me monitor and confirm ;)

oh ya just to add..

iirc the forum software works in such...

When you press submit, they will log a post number and submit the data from your post, since you are sending only text, the information normally gets over instanteously, on the other hand, if the server is having a heavy load, the confirmation screen may or may not appear instantly, sometimes it gets a server timeout. hence blank screen.

only if the server is down at the same moment you press submit, then your information is not submitted.

thats what i understand from the software (kinda limited)

To the TS,

In addition to all that's been said above, here's the definitive answer for your question - see:
