can you see the lines on the negative itself?

Looks like it's been badly processed.

yes, i can see clearly the scratch line on my negative film. so you suggest that the problem is occurred during processing? where you guys normally go for processing? thanks

possible, but you also need to check the film chamber of your camera have any foreign objects.

here is another photo, the scratch line is different. beside the scratch problem, the pic quality is also bad, is it due to film quality, lens problem or process problem?

what film? expired film?
it looks grainy, some light leak, fogging as well.

the grain could be due to underexposed, or improper processing,

the scratch line could be lot of factors, but it is not uniform, so probably cause by hands.

too little information given here.

Because I just start shooting film, so I use kodak gold 200 as my test roll. I use Nikon FM2n and zeiss 50mm 1.4 is my lens. When I took those pics my light meter indicate correctly. So I just don't understand where goes wrong. The film was recently bought and not possible was expired one. I also have noticed the light leakage problem, is it caused by the camera itself? but not every photo has the problem.

something or someone has scratched your negatives during processing. also, the negatives look under-exposed. the FM2 meter could be off?

which lab did you send the negatives too? if it is not your camera, you should go and complain to the shop. looks like your whole roll is ruined. :(

Forgot the shop name, it locates at Peninsula Plaza 1st floor, just beside the coleman lane. I went there because the processing time was just 1 hr,if you are willing to pay $6 than they can do it within 1/2 hr. They also sell some professional films like kodak protra 160 and 800, some b&w film, etc so i thought it should be more professional than those normal digi-photo shops where only sell one or two types of normal consumer film. Any one can introduce some places provide decent processing service?

is it konota?

anyway, there are not that many good labs left in SG nowadays, IMO... off my head, i can only recommend TripleD over at Burlington Square, or Fotohub. i personally prefer to use Fotohub since they have many outlets. so far, touch wood, they are pretty good in developing my colour negs.

Konota is a lab use by many wedding photographers during the film hayday, it is very unlikely a lab like this will give customers such results.
anyway, there are not much labs left here, one close down follow by another,
it does not make enough profit to keep them going, probably you will go one round and come back to the same lab again.

there are many reasons for causing this, you need to isolate each of them to know the real issue.
I would suggest you look carefully what film you use, how you load the film, check your film camera, use handheld light meter or a digital camera to check exposure.

The light leak is probably caused by the light seals around the film back cover. The sponges probably already deteriorated and light may enter if there is strong sunlight.

Not all the photos have scratches and light leak problem. But none of them looks good in terms of grain and clarity.$14389373484_2378e03301_z.jpg$14387061991_fc4aec5cc4_z.jpg

Anyway, I sent my next roll to TripleD for processing. If the result turns out the same, I think I need to send my camera for servicing liao.

Most likely it's a camera problem.

Send to Nikon to check.

Nikon Service Centre may just see see look look at the camera and tell you what's wrong with it, but won't repair film cameras, as most of these films camera already obsolete for quite some time, the parts are no longer available.

Yes I know. At least OP don't need to guess if it's camera or processing issues.

it seems the processing problem, i just tried the sencond roll at triple d there. the result is good.

I can confirm that konata gives very bad results. Their films are badly scratched.
