whale sharks at Christmas Island

Lucky You !!

But must say that it looks like a 'small' Whale Shark..... look no more than 4-5 metres to me.

How was the diving at Christmas Island ?? ;)

Yep, right on. I only sighted young whale sharks, not more than 4m.

Diving in Christmas Island - highlight was the whale shark, other than that excellent coral cover, clear waters (30m). Fish diversity not as high, although there are some endemic Indian Ocean fish species. Dive service pales in comparison to Indonesian diving, and very expensive as well. Of course, the land offers other highlights - red crab migration, robber crabs galore, get up close to seabirds...

All in all, a well rounded experience.

Hi, sounds like a really fruitful trip.
I been dying to visit Christmas Island, did you go by SilkAir or other means?
Care to advice?

It is a bit steep, but time your trip well and you can get to see much wildlife. There is currently once-a-week Silkair direct flight (Thursday). There maybe more flights once the casino re-operates later next year, and hopefully fare price will drop as well.
